                     Medical Coding is the process of translating diagnoses, procedures, services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes, which are then used to create a patient’s medical record.

                      Medical Coders uses a set of assigned codes for coding purposes. For instance, CPT codes or Current Procedural Terminology presents the codes for procedures done during a healthcare process. HCPCS codes or Healthcare Common Procedural Coding Systems are codes which represents equipment used. ICD codes or International Classification of Diseases denotes diagnosis. For example, G24.9 denotes dystonia. 

              Dystonia is a neurological disorder characterized by sustained muscle contractions, which cause abnormal postures and repetitive movements. It can affect any part of the body, including the arms, legs, neck, and face. Symptoms may range from mild to severe, and can include tremors, jerking, and twisting of the limbs. Treatment options vary depending on the type and severity of the condition, but may include medications, physical therapy, and deep brain stimulation.
